Simple festive table setting for family celebrations

Simple festive table setting for family celebrations

Christmas is a quiet celebration of those we love. A time of gratitude and connection.

We share the day & our traditions; we give thoughtful gifts that make our loved ones feel special; we share food & our stories.

Feasting together is an age-old tradition of celebration and setting the table is part of the well-loved ritual.

This year our festive table will be laid with linen; I’m opting for warm tones of earthy red and soft pink for the linen tablecloth, linen table runner & blush pink napkins.

Layering luxury cushions and real sheepskin rugs set the scene for a leisurely lunch.

Bud vases filled with simple seasonal delights the garden has to share. Try cuttings of eucalyptus with its silvery green leaves and minty pine fragrance.

Trailing russet leaves add a natural sense of flow. Origami vases, bud vases and tea light holders in pretty jewel colours add a warm glow.

A cluster of seasonal berries and deep velvety blooms provide a sense of richness. Glossy pomegranates whose ruby skin shines brighter in the candlelight are a festive touch to be opened and shared after lunch (does anyone still pick the seeds out with a pin?!)

Candles are central to ceremonies. My girls love the ritual of lighting our pure beeswax candles with long tapers which signals the start of a special occasion.

Mixing elegant dinner candles, stubby beeswax candles and scented tea lights creates a wonderful river of flickering lights flowing down the centre of the table.

Shop our selection of kitchen and tableware, including our luxury washed linen runners and napkins, Brickett Davda ceramics, coloured glass tea light holders and bud vases, raffia placemats and coasters, 100% beeswax candles and soft sheepskin rugs.
