Framed Antique Swedish Herbarium - 15 July 1942
A beautiful real plant specimen from 1920's Sweden offers a beautiful and distinctive way to bring nature into your home.
Framed in a black Danish Moebe A2 frame that consists of two pieces of acrylic glass, four lists made of powder coated aluminium and a rubber band. The rubber band both holds the frame together and serves for hanging the frame on your wall.
Pressed flower specimens from Sweden have always been considered among the best examples of this craft due to their spare, meticulous presentation of flowers, leaves, and roots.
Our Swedish Herbarium samples range from the 1920’s to 1950’s. The specimens are of an exceptional quality with root systems well-preserved. Plant material is held in place with the original gummed tapes. Specimens are labeled by hand with the plant’s Latin name, the location and date each plant was collected, and the signature of the collector.
Most remarkably, the botanicals in these collections have been composed in a manner that far transcends their scientific purpose, capturing the essence of the plant’s form.
