Fit & size guide

Our Moccasins tend to come up a bit small so we suggest it’s wise to size up. If you are between sizes, we recommend you size up, therefore if you are a size 5.5, select a size 6.

Our slippers sometimes require a day or two of commitment to wear them in, but you will be rewarded with a pair of slippers that will fit like a glove! Like trying on a new pair of jeans, your first impression may be that the fit is too snug. But just like jeans, a fit which feels initially tight, will always relax. Jeans that are immediately comfortable will simply become much looser with wear. Our Moccasins work in the same way. When you gently wear them in, the suede and sheepskin soften and mold to your feet and soon they will become so comfortable you will forget you are even wearing them.

Your toes should just touch the end of the slippers. They should not be curled under or feel uncomfortable in any way.

Your heel should sit comfortably within the edge of the sole. With the Mules, the back edge of the soles can feel solid at the start and initially you might feel it when walking, which may make you question whether they are too small. But trust us they are not. The closed toe of the Mule will soon soften and ‘open-up’, creating more space for your foot. The back edge of the mules also softens with wear so within days you’ll feel nothing but soft sheepskin hug around your foot. There can be a little bit of heel slippage as you walk in the full moccasins and the boots initially but as the soles soften and become more flexible this will stop.

Please do note that every pair is made by hand, so this means that slight variations in sizing can sometimes occur.

THE WEAR-IN

When you first try our Moccasins, be prepared for them to feel snug. This is because, unlike shoes or trainers, they are designed to fit your feet without the aid of laces or straps.

Within a couple of days, for the vast majority, the Moccasins will have mellowed with light wear, the suede and sheepskin will have softened and expanded to create customised comfort for your feet.

THE TRIAL PERIOD

We would expect your Moccasins to start to soften with light use. Wear for a few hours over a couple of days and you will notice the difference as they soften to your feet.

We always advise customers to try their Moccasins on a clean, carpeted surface so in the event of them needing to be exchanged, they remain in a clean saleable condition.

You may also find that initially the hard sole creates sound on bare wooden floorboards, although this also diminishes as the sole wears in.

MOCCASIN CARE

Our 100% handmade sheepskin moccasins are only to be worn indoors. Gently spot clean using a mild detergent and water. Avoid getting them soaking wet and never put in washing machine. We also suggest you keep them away from excitable puppies who will definitely want to give them a good chew!
